Founded on Philanthropy

The existence of Hughes Hall today can be traced to a substantial donation made in 1895 by Jurgen and Emily Pfeiffer; in recent times, a significant donation by Dr Edwin Leong has given us flexibility to provide more scholarships to our students. It is philanthropy that underpins the College and enables us to support and house our students, to develop our learning resources, and educate some of the best graduates and mature students in global higher education.
